Better Be Green At The Beach Than Red

Better Be Green At The Beach Than Red

Spending time on the beach is a time-honoured way to spend a hot and sunny day. When you head to the beach, you can sunbathe, picnic, build a sandcastle, or head into the sea. Whatever you choose to do with your time, it's also important to think about your environment while you're on the sand (or pebbles or shingles). No one wants to go to the beach and discover that other people have left things behind, and not taking the right steps to be responsible can damage our beaches and marine environments.

Before you head to the beach, there are a few things you can keep in mind to help you make green choices.

Eco-friendly Coverups

Covering up at the beach is important too, helping you to keep the sun off your head, face, and body. A fantastic way to do this is to have an all-purpose item like BANDITS bandanas that you can use to cover up in all kinds of ways. With a large bandana, scarf, or shawl, you can tie it in all kinds of ways and even use it to make yourself a sunshade.

We know just how difficult getting changed at the beach can be. We have made this easier for you by offering these quick dry surf ponchos. Not only is the poncho convenient and stylish but it is also eco-friendly. Up to 26 plastic bottles were used to create it! Those bottles would have instead ended up in landfill sites, leading to plastic pollution.

Protecting your eyes is important too, but sunglasses (and prescription glasses) often use plastic for the frames. Fortunately, you can find shades made using recycled materials like unwanted skateboards or sustainable wood.

Food and Drink at the Beach

Taking something to eat and especially drink at the beach is a must. You need to stay hydrated, and you never know when you might get hungry. For a green beach trip, pack your reusable food and water containers. You can take them home when you're done and use them again next time. Reusable water bottles are ideal for the beach. If you want to keep food and drink cool, pack a cooler bag made from recycled materials.

Beeswax food wraps are excellent for wrapping sandwiches or snacks without the need for plastic wrap or plastic bags. You can simply clean them when you've finished with them and use them again.

Make your trip to the beach one that helps to protect the environment by packing responsibly. Be sure to leave no trace too, and take everything home.
